Meals, Snacks & Other Food
There are three meals served each day on Star Island; breakfast (8:00 am), lunch (12:30 pm) and supper (6:30 pm). Breakfast is served buffet style and lunch & dinner are served as a sit down family-style meal.
The exceptions to the above schedule are:
1. On the first day, new shoalers and their hosts are seated at 6:25.
2. The night we have a lobster dinner, the lobster dinner begins at 6:15 pm and the non-lobster dinner begins at 6:30.
3. Breakfast on the last day begins at 7:15 am.
On your registration form, you may indicate a regular or vegetarian menu. Due to the limited size of the kitchen staff, special dietary requests can not be accommodated. If you need to bring any special food, please contact the island cook beforehand and they will be able to let you know the type of storage space that is available.
Between meals, the snack bar will be open. They carry a variety of food; bagels, mini pizzas, hot dogs, sodas, water, ice cream, coffee, tea, candy bars, etc.
Continuing again this summer, LOAS will be offer their reserved table program. The conference registrar will contact families who have children under the age of five and families who have a member with a mobility issue. These families will have the option of having seats reserved for their family at the same table for every meal during the conference. This will alleviate the possibility of parents with young children having to sit at separate tables.
