On August 14th, 2011 a small 4-seat private airplane took off from Westchester County airport in NY. Ross Cole (a LOAS II long time shoaler) was fulfilling his contribution to the 2010 LOAS II Auction to support the Lee Reid Scholarship Fund. What he offered was a plane ride for 3 other people over Star Island at some later date and this was the date.

The winner of that auction was a partnership of 3 shoalers; Toby Dills, Peter Shoultz and Darren Grebe. Unfortunately, because of difficult logistics and planning (the weather could have been more cooperative), Toby Dills would actually be on-island, so he was not able to make it. Very reluctantly, Sara Grebe agreed to fill the seat (I think it took half a second to say "YES!"). But Ross came up with an easy and generous solution... He would take Toby over the island on some later date.
